This is a fantastic book, written in the wry style of a seasoned soldier who saw the whole campaign against Napoleon from the Peninsular to Waterloo. It is full of interesting and even funny anecdotes of life following the drum and of course the terrible sadness at the loss of comrades in battle. Kincaid is a master story teller, and his memoirs guarantee hours of fascinating reading for those interested in the Napoleonic campaigns. I highly recommend it.
