This well written book provides insight into the man who was arguably Napoleon's greatest marshal and it's hard not to fall for such a courageous and heroic figure. The book follows his progression through various military campaigns and not only explains why he was dubbed "The Bravest of the Brave" but provides insight into his less-than-stellar performance at the battle of Waterloo. There's also a moving description of his final days which shows how he faced death at least as well as he faced life.
