Despite having been written in 1892, this book is one of the best on the Waterloo campaign, specifically evaluating the performance of the various leaders on all sides and the movements of their troops over the period of 15 thru 18 June, 1815. Clear writing, insightful analysis, based on primary sources, and excellent descriptions of what Grouchy, to pick one leader, knew, and when he knew it & his decision making in light of the information he had available. Does not dwell on describing the battles (Quatre Bras, Ligny, Waterloo, and whatever was happening before Wavre), but concentrates on the strategies of the army commanders. Highly recommended.
